I’m kind of bummed out today. Irvin Kershner, the guy who directed the Star Wars film, The Empire Strikes Back, has died. Apparently he had been suffering from a long illness, he was 87.
I will always remember Kershner as the man who gave us the most emotionally gripping chapter of the Star Wars saga. I don’t think the film would have been nearly as good if it weren’t for this man, the problem with the new prequel films is that there was no one with the balls to stand up to George Lucas. Irvin Kershner had those balls.
I don’t know about you folks, but I will certainly be watching Empire tonight. Who’s with me?
